Honda Brings New SUV Into Development

It seems these days as if Honda might just have an SUV/CUV for everyone. Between the Honda Pilot (full-size SUV), the CR-V (crossover), and the Crosstour (full-size hatchback), the company is able to appeal to a wide range of budgets and preferences. Of course, we here at Gustman Honda know that the work involved with appealing to everyone is never over. That's why Honda is embarking on the development of a new SUV model that's based on an unexpected platform.
More specifically, Honda is planning to turn its lauded Civic into an SUV model, much to the surprise of drivers in the greater Appleton area and beyond. Any why wouldn't they be at least a little shocked? It was one thing when the company spun the Accord into the Crosstour, but this is a compact Honda model that we're talking about. And even the most compact SUVs still manage to tower over the Civic like nothing.
So why use the Civic as a platform? The answer is simple. Honda hopes to create an SUV that is both efficient and versatile. In other words, they're hoping to make it appeal to as many people as possible, and the Civic already carries much of that appeal. Just ask anyone who has ever financed or leased one.
At the moment, we don't know much else about the new Honda SUV, other than the fact that it utilizes the same tech as the Civic. But you can count on everyone here at 2400 W Spencer St. Appleton, WI 54914 to keep you informed on its developments, from now until when it's offered in the new Honda lineup.
